Yearly Meeting 2018

After Jesus’ words recorded in Luke 5:4, we learn that the fishermen were afraid and Jesus, instead of just comforting them, gives a promise/prophesy: Don’t be afraid, from now on you will catch men. The response of those fishermen, soon to be disciples, was one of action – a second launching out, and this time without boats! So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed Him, Luke 5:11 (NIV).
In 2015, we launched out as a denomination to refocus our mission, vision, and core values. We identified key areas including Biblical faithfulness, empowered leadership, innovative multiplication, efficient organization, and connectional ministry.
All of our churches were challenged in 2017 to launch out and embrace these core values. Luke 5:6 records a miraculous moment when they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. At this Yearly Meeting, we will be challenging EFC-ER delegates, churches, members, and attenders to lift their nets expecting miracles.
