Stewardship

About:

Vision Statement: Inspire and teach friends to be generous stewards of God’s resources based upon Biblical Principals

Biblical Basis: “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of life that is truly life.”-Timothy 6:17-19

Mission: The mission of the Stewardship Ministry is to educate and equip people in understanding financial Biblical principles through small group Bible studies, workshops, and one-on-one financial coaching. The goal is to see every person become Christ-centered stewards who give generously, save regularly, live debt free and understand God’s perspective on money and possessions.

What is the Blessed to Be a Blessing Board?

The First Friends Church Blessing Board is a Facebook group that is open to provide another outlet for the organic generosity in our First Friends family. This is not a sales site; anyone is welcome to post a new or gently-used item that you would be willing to give and in the process materially “bless” a new owner.

When you see an item that you or someone you know would be blessed by, please post in the comments that you would like it and contact the giver directly to arrange pick up of the item. We don’t limit the range of our blessings, so you do not have to be a member of First Friends Church to participate in either the giving or the receiving of these blessings.

Please share with your friends to post items they would like to give and let the blessings begin!

GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPATING:
GIVING:

  2. Items posted here are not for sale, giving only.
  3. No used mattresses or box springs, please.
  4. Do NOT leave items, for future pickup, at the Church’s front desk.
  5. Always use common sense and some caution when exchanging items with someone you do not already know.
  6. Once you have given an item away, delete your item post.
  7. Items posted will be monitored and removed immediately if inappropriate.

RECEIVING:

  1. Only take what you need and will use.
  2. Be respectful and be sure you pick up your item at the time and location agreed upon.
