A Love Story
Sunday morning Connect Groups are designed to complement corporate worship by building relationships and furthering your growth as a disciple of Jesus in a small group setting. By joining one of our year round Sunday morning Connect Groups you will have the opportunity to not only become refreshed, but also to become connected to God and His people.
All young adults that are post high school, including college and graduate students, are welcome to join us this Winter as we study two men (David and Solomon) who found themselves thrust into leadership positions and then compromised their God-honoring leadership when they became successful, comfortable and prideful. Along the way we will examine the book of Ecclesiastes and what its principles reveal about how to have a truly successful life.
Between Friends is a devoted group of people with years of life experiences who meet Sunday mornings for fellowship, prayer, and Bible study. We practice sharing joys and concerns and applying Scripture to daily living. The study topics change from time to time, but are always Biblically focused as we seek to apply God’s Word to our lives. We welcome anyone interested in joining our discussion about what the Lord is showing us through His Word and His actions in our lives.
In the Gospel of John, Jesus said “I AM” seven times. I AM the bread…the light…the door, etc. When He spoke these words He was declaring His divinity and assuring us that He is the promised Messiah. This Winter we will examine the I AMs of Jesus that show us Jesus, and only Jesus, meets our most basic needs and fulfills our hearts’ deepest desires. All are welcome for Bible study, discussion, prayer, and fellowship.
We are a group of married couples with school-aged children. You are invited to join us this semester as we look at Becoming Us: Using the Enneagram to Create a Thriving, Gospel-Centered Marriage by Beth and Jeff McCord. The Enneagram is a way of categorizing the human psyche into 9 different personality types. Becoming Us pulls back the curtain on marriage and weaves the Enneagram through the lens of the Gospel to reveal why you and your spouse behave in different ways. Becoming Us will transform your marriage into the powerful relationship that God intended.
The southern kingdom of Judah was carried off to Babylon starting in 605 BC. Jeremiah had prophesied a 70-year time of exile before the Jewish people would return. In 540 BC the Persian king began making sweeping changes to the Babylonian way of ruling. However, it took almost 100 years until the Jewish people returned to Jerusalem, rebuilt the temple, and rebuilt the city itself. Ezra and Nehemiah are the books of the Old Testament that best document this return. Join us as we continue our study of this very important time in the history of God’s chosen people and how they dealt with adversity, despair, and finally, triumph. God’s chosen are always blessed, but not always in the way they think is best.
This class is for women of all ages and all stages of life with a hunger for the Word of God. January 12–April 5, we will experience the IF:Gathering 2019 through study. What does it look like to live out our faith in our relationships, our jobs, in conflict and suffering, and with our money? This generation is hungry for big faith, a faith marked by wisdom, that is lived out in the practical, mundane things we do and decisions we make every day. Join us as we listen to the IF:Gathering speakers and dive into the book of Proverbs for a look at a different way to live. April 19–May 31, we will study Gifted For Love by Matt Chandler. All spiritual gifts come from the Holy Spirit and are given to serve the body of Christ in love. These gifts are at work today, but most of us have never heard of the gifts or have seen them twisted for a glory other than God’s. In this video study each of us will discover how God has individually gifted, called, and empowered us with gifts for building up His Church.
We will start a thirteen-week study of Galatians and Romans on December 1. We’ll engage the Scripture as Friends have been doing for centuries by examining about how our own experience intersects with the Scripture and what that might mean for our local faith community.
This group for parents of middle school and high school-aged children studies topics and issues faced by today’s parents and teens and how to handle them in a godly, biblically informed manner. This Winter we will do the following studies: Parenting by Paul Tripp presents a big-picture view of God’s plan for us as parents. Grace Based Discipline by Karis Kimmel Murray teaches parents how to positively respond to their kids. Road Back to You by Ian Morgan Cron and Suzanne Stabile uses enneagrams, a personality typing system, to learn why we are the way we are and how it affects relationships.
Session 1: March 8-29 or Session 2: May 3-24
We are a group of single adults (age 40+), who come together for prayer and for study of God’s Word. Our focus is on Christ and on caring for one another in good and bad times. We take comfort in Paul’s words that as singles we are better able to focus on how we can serve Christ. You are welcome to join us as we seek to follow Christ. We are always open to new participants.
