Christmas Giving  Opportunities

Tis the Season…

The holiday season is a time of joy for many! Spending time with friends and family, shopping, decorating your home, making cookies, caroling, and so much more. However for some people, the holidays present a whole batch of stress, difficulties, or sorrow. Here at First Friends we offer a few opportunities for you to help out your neighbors and brothers and sisters in Christ.

    Lighthouse Christmas Giving Tree

    November 7 – December 1
Please join Lighthouse Ministries in an effort to provide an Affordable Christmas for the families in their Canton neighborhood. In purchasing presents for kids, the real gift you are offering is the dignity for a parent to provide for their children. The presents you purchase will be sold at an affordable price in a “store” run by Lighthouse. Stop by the Christmas Shop Board outside the Worship Center, grab a tag, and return the unwrapped gift by Wednesday, December 1.

If you would like to help volunteer at the Lighthouse Christmas Shop event (Saturday, December 4) please emailPastor Scott Calhoun at scalhoun@firstfriends.org. Help is needed to wrap gifts and run customer service. Times and shifts will be e-mailed out at a later date.

    Missionary Christmas

    December 24
This year we have the opportunity to show our love and support to RAHAB Ministries. RAHAB is devoted to rescuing and restoring victims of human trafficking. Our Christmas Eve offering is going to help fund the Canton RAHAB drop-in center. This center provides services to women who are transitioning from being incarcerated, homeless or recovering from street life. Women who come to the drop-in center are given food, clothing/personal care items, as well as assistance securing housing, gaining employment, and fulfilling community service requirements. Women are also able to participate in numerous Bible studies. The drop-in center is often the first time women experience the love and support RAHAB has to offer as well as make the choice to enter into a pathway of recovery through their relationship with Jesus and the ministries RAHAB provides.
